We’ve been returning to these romantic villas in the small, beautiful village of Pentamodi for almost ten years. We love Crete and this place so much that we’ve brought our mothers too, who were 80 and 90. It’s a family business, and when we arrived with them, the owners arranged an airport pickup because the small car we’d booked couldn’t manage all of us. Each villa has a garden with a pool, chairs, and loungers for warm days outside. The interiors have what most people need for stays of a few weeks. The owner and everyone involved in the service are kind and helpful. We didn’t return because we’d already been here and got special treatment. We kept returning because of their kindness. If anything is missing or broken, tell your contact so they can take care of it. They’re also open to reasonable improvement ideas and will do what they can. They can’t fix what nobody tells them about. One particular suggestion: visit Giorgos' kafenion. It may look small, but the family is very friendly, and by the second or third visit you’ll feel like family too. Trust Giorgo’s recommendations, order five or six plates and let him choose, and try the tasty village wine. If you like country life, you’ll surely return.

There’s a small shop about a three-minute walk away for basic supplies, and Georgia's tavern is right next door, with great food and drinks. The location is beautiful and peaceful, and the hospitality is warm. It’s also a lovely place to go for walks and enjoy the views.

We had a perfect three-week stay in Pentamodi. Heraklion and the beaches are reachable within 20 minutes. The house is lovely, has everything you need close at hand, and comes with a nice pool. It’s in the village, which has two very friendly taverns and a little shop.

A lovely pastoral village in Crete, close to Heraklion. It’s a great place to relax and soak up the Cretan atmosphere. Georgius runs a great tavern with fantastic food and the best raki in Crete. A good starting point for walks and other trips.
