El Greco Hotel

The staff were wonderful, and I’d definitely come back. It’s right in the center, so you can walk to the port, museums, parks, and lots of good restaurants. Try Peskesi! It’s an older hotel, but well kept, and the rooms have what you need. The streets outside can get loud. Breakfast was missing the fancier pastries and pies, though it had nearly everything else you’d expect.

The best thing is the central location. You can find food and drinks nearby until 4 a.m., although that also means noise late into the night. The room was okay, and breakfast was passable, even with the watered-down orange juice. The toilet is so close to the wall that you have to sit sideways. The shower leaks and isn’t secured properly, and using it leaves the whole bathroom floor soaked.

The bathroom and beds were clean, and I thought it was good value for the money. It’s an old hotel, though, and the rooms aren’t in perfect shape. A good fit if you want to be right in the lively center. In summer, and on Saturdays in the off-season, the streets stay busy almost all night.

The staff did more than expected to make us comfortable, and the service was excellent. We had a stylish room in a great spot. Fantastic hotel, and we’ll definitely come back.
