LAVRIS City Suites

Mary at the front desk was wonderful, so kind and went above and beyond. Our room was immaculate, and the location is right by the bus station. Highly recommend!

Maria, who mainly runs the front desk, is a gem. She’s friendly, knowledgeable, warm, and compassionate, and had an answer for every question we asked. We’re first-time visitors to Crete and have found the perfect place for a return trip to Heraklion/Iráklio. This might sound like an advertisement, but it really isn’t. Lavris is very well placed. It’s a 10-minute taxi or public bus ride from the airport, just across the street from the central bus terminal, and a 10-minute walk to the cruise ships or ferries in the harbour. The city center is a 10-15-minute stroll. The bus to Knossos leaves and comes back from 100 yards away, and another bus to a nearby beach, about a 20-minute ride, stops there too. I nearly forgot: our room, really a suite, was very new, modern, and well equipped. The bed was very comfortable, the bathroom was great, and the shower was outstanding.

We couldn’t stay because of unforeseen circumstances, and the hotel refused to refund the unused room. I understand that cancellation policies exist, but we told them in advance and would have appreciated some flexibility. The rigid response left a bad impression. I’d advise others to book carefully or look for a more accommodating hotel.

Mary made sure everything for our visit was arranged, including a late check-in and breakfast delivered to our room each day. Her personal service was second to none. The suites are modern and immaculate, just a few hundred metres from the center of Heraklion. We really enjoyed staying here.
