We found the apartment worked well for us, and the owner was really helpful. There’s a good restaurant at the end of the street and the city bus is nearby. Getting a suitcase in means dealing with a few stairs, though. One surprise: it’s right in the flight path, as the balcony photo shows, so plane spotters will love it. I’d been hoping for somewhere near the airport, just not quite at the end of the runway!

We liked the apartment’s space, cleanliness, comfortable bed and well-equipped kitchen, and it’s close to the centre. The little air freshener in the hall was a nice touch too. The bathroom is extremely small, though; for a night or two, that’s manageable. Planes taking off can be heard here, like across east Heraklion, but with the windows shut it should be fine.

The runway lines up directly with the building, so takeoffs bring some really noisy moments. Cooling is only in the bedroom, and the terrace view is limited. Still, as a one-night stop on the way, it’s ideal, especially if you have an early flight or arrive late. The apartment was clean and well maintained, with bananas and spring water provided.

We had the wrong date booked and only realized the day before, so we didn’t get to stay. Free cancellation was no longer available, but the owner made an exception and refunded us in full. We really appreciated that. Thanks again, very kind of you!
