The staff were welcoming and ready to help, and I found the hotel a comfortable base in Karteros. It’s about a 10-minute walk from the beach and 15 minutes from Heraklion Airport, with small shops nearby that you can reach on foot. That made getting to the sea and arranging transfers easy. My room was modern and well furnished, with comfortable bedding, calming understated decor, a clean and functional bathroom, and a kitchenette with what I needed for light meals. The pool was a lovely place to unwind after exploring, and the loungers were comfortable. I only wish it stayed open later, as it closes fairly early. A couple of practical things could be improved: to get an iron, you have to cross the pool, and there’s no way to get one directly from your room. Also, I couldn’t leave my luggage at reception on departure day, which would have helped me enjoy the last day more. Still, it’s a well-located, relaxing place to stay, and I’d recommend it.

Our flight was cancelled, so we ended up staying for three days and two nights. The owners made us feel very welcome. The pool was great, and the shower was nice. At night, the lights made the place look really cosy. We enjoyed the breakfast, cappuccino, and drinks. We were lucky to get a few extra days here. Thank you so much!

The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. They even helped us find a rental car and arrange delivery to the hotel. Shops and places to eat are close by, and getting into the city is convenient. Nancy Apartment has a lovely, well-kept yard with pomegranate and lemon trees and other plants. Everything, including our room, was spotless. The kitchen had all the basics we needed: a stove, coffee machine, fridge, and dishes. Shampoo, conditioner, and shower gel were provided in the bathroom. We also liked having a pool and pool bar on site. The water wasn’t too heavily chlorinated, and there’s an outdoor shower for rinsing off. Our room looked out over the pool and runway, and free air conditioning was a bonus. We highly recommend it!

We had a terrible experience with the owners. Our room smelled bad and was filthy, with stains on the bed, and we even found a dead rat in the room. When we asked to move, the owners refused. We ended up leaving and never got a refund for our stay. The worst hotel experience ever. Not recorded at all!!!

The apartment looked nothing like the photos or the official listing. It was pretty average and not very comfortable. For the same price, there are lots of better places on Airbnb. Fooled me once...
