The owner was wonderful, warm and welcoming from the moment we arrived, and made us feel at home. He went out of his way to help find our lost luggage, which was a lifesaver. We can't thank him enough. Sofia Hotel is a wonderful place in Heraklion, Crete. Highly recommend it to anyone visiting Crete. We'll definitely come back!

After a national strike delayed our flight badly, the hotel showed no understanding toward our family traveling with kids and kept our money. Then they canceled the reservation themselves, which left us unable to respond. I found the whole thing extremely dishonest, and I won't trust them again.

For a one-night stop near the airport, it does the job and the price is reasonable. It was fairly clean and close by. The building feels old, though, there's no soundproofing at all, and the pillows were flat.

The room itself was comfortable, clean, and good. But every morning there was loud hammering from construction, and the front desk hadn't mentioned any work was going on. I wish I'd known so I could decide whether to cancel. The cleaning staff were also very noisy in the hallway in the mornings.

After a long journey, the concierge made us feel right at home and really looked after us. The rooms were pleasant, and the hotel was great value in a great location.
