Avoid The Project Suite in Heraklion. I booked and paid through Booking.com two months ahead for three nights, and they confirmed it. I was due to check in at 1400, arrived a little early at 1330, and messaged the property through Booking.com. They texted back that my reservation was cancelled because “there is another guest within.” A few moments later, Booking.com called and said the property had cancelled at the last minute because of a “technical issue.” I got my money back and found somewhere else, but sorting it out cost me a day of my holiday. The area around The Project Suite is littered, and a very busy main road runs right outside. I couldn't leave a negative review through Booking.com because the cancellation meant they wouldn't invite me to review. Looking at Google reviews, I saw other people saying their bookings were cancelled at the last minute too. In my experience, they're 1st RATE CHANCERS!

I can't rely on this owner. Our apartment had been booked for several months, and we'd agreed on the check-in time. The owner also knew that, with our late flight arrival, we needed to be sure we could get into the apartment when we landed. Even so, the booking was cancelled at 6:00 PM on the day we were due to check in at midnight. The owner had confirmed that check-in by phone just twenty minutes earlier. Avoid this place.

The bathroom is well kept, and the bed, though small, was comfortable. The studio has been renovated recently and furnished with taste. There's a fridge and a kitchen stocked with dishes, glasses, and what you need to cook. It's also conveniently placed for getting around by car and visiting Heraklion.

The bedroom and kitchen are both well maintained. The bathroom is missing its toilet seat, though. It's a first-floor apartment, and getting up the small staircase is a bit difficult.

The gentleman was really friendly and spoke clear, easy-to-understand English. The place is close to the airport, though a taxi there cost €20. There was no breakfast, a hole in the shutter, and the door handle was broken.
