The bathroom was uncomfortably small, and the shower was very basic. The hotel lacked the amenities and comfort I expected. Cleaning was superficial, even before check-in: the mirror and windows were dirty, and the shower door was broken with only a small curtain. I stayed for several weeks, with a few days away between separate reservations. The owners, who clean and serve breakfast, were extremely rude and unprofessional. When I checked out, they wouldn’t let me store my luggage, so I waited in reception with it because I wasn’t leaving for my next destination until later. They made me feel very uncomfortable and told me to leave. I found that unacceptable, as services should be available all day after checkout. They threatened to call the police. Breakfast would leave you hungry if you have intolerances or food restrictions. From what they served, I could only eat some fruit and vegetables. The other food seemed factory-made and low quality, so I wouldn’t eat it anyway. The olive oil was the only good-quality product. Reception hours are very limited. Only the lady speaks a little English; her husband and son don’t speak it at all.

The hosts were so friendly and helpful, and everything was just right, from the location to breakfast. My parents really enjoyed their stay at Casa Di Veneto. Thank you for everything!

The village is lovely, with the center square just a few steps away, plenty of restaurants, and a bakery nearby worth trying. If you want to explore this part of Crete, this is a great place to book. The host was so friendly and the service was amazing. We couldn’t have asked for more. Our room was nicely decorated and had its own entrance, a pleasant bathroom with a bathtub, and the option to turn it into a bubbling jacuzzi. They cleaned every day and even folded our clothes. Breakfast is well worth booking: it doesn’t cost much more, is made with care, and is filling enough to set you up for a day of hiking. We were very happy here and would return whenever we’re in Crete.

The suites were lovely, and breakfast was really delicious.
