Semiramis Village

The staff were friendly and helpful, and our room was cleaned every day, but the room itself really needs renovating. There’s no ventilation, so after using the toilet the smell hangs around for the rest of the day, and the furniture needs replacing. The food was repetitive and not the best, though there was usually something to choose. It’s quite a way from the town centre, with only a small access point to the beach. We’d have liked more entertainment and a proper renovation.

The hotel feels old, though the cleaning was excellent and done daily. The staff were quick, kind, welcoming, and provided excellent service, and the view was wonderful. That’s why I’d give it 3 stars, not 4. Getting to the rooms was difficult, with flights of stairs and apartment sections to pass through before reaching the top floor. The food was very poor and didn’t match the service. I often skipped lunch and otherwise ate salad. Pork was served readily, though some people don’t eat it. The chicken and fish were badly cooked and not worth a star.

Getting around is easier if you have your own transport. By bus, it’s probably about 15 minutes. The rooms are simple but roomy, with a small bathroom and shower. The staff are polite and will do their best to help when you ask.

The bar could use more staff. At times I waited over 25 minutes just to get a beer, and if someone ordered a cocktail, the one bartender would focus on making it and nothing else. This was my first all-inclusive resort where you couldn’t pour your own beer or soda. Still, I had an amazing stay because every member of staff was lovely. The cleaners chatted with you in the morning, reception was helpful, and the cooks and barman were always happy to talk and joke around.
