We stayed in the single-storey Eastern II, with a spacious veranda set up for dining and sunbathing, and lovely views over Ydra (Hydra) town and port. The house was comfortable and had a well-equipped kitchen, plus a bathroom with a bath and shower. It’s around a ten-minute walk from the port. There are some steep steps, but Christine's directions make the walk quite manageable.

Getting around takes some effort: there are no cars or motorcycles, luggage has to come up by donkey, and we walked up the 183 stairs to the KK house every day. After a week, you’ll be in shape! The house itself was quiet and peaceful, with stunning views. We enjoyed the restaurants and nightlife, and the swimming and rock jumping at Silica beach were exhilarating. The ice cream was fabulous too.

A really spacious, exceptionally nice house with good amenities and a perfect balcony with lovely views. The climb to get there is tough, though.
