Phaedra Hotel

The breakfast was delicious, and I felt really cared for throughout my stay. This hotel is beautiful and authentic, with that boutique luxury feel. I can’t wait to return for another stay and more Hydran Hospitality. 10/10, would recommend.

Hilda was an exceptional host, and the breakfast was fantastic. We were travelling with our three kids, aged 11, 9, and 7, and she made us feel very welcome. When ferry problems and bad weather disrupted our trip to the island, she kindly accommodated us. Then, with the weather still causing trouble, she helped us work out how to get back. We’d tried calling the Port Authority and others ourselves without getting anywhere, but she knew who to contact and sorted it out for us. The location is amazing, and I can’t recommend Hilda enough. This is a truly exceptional place.

The owner, Hilda, went above and beyond right at the start of my trip. I’d accidentally left my passport in the safe at Phaedra Hotel and didn’t realize until I was checking into a hotel in Athens. I was meant to fly to another island the next day for a retreat, and without the passport that would have caused serious financial and travel problems. Hilda quickly and kindly got it onto the last ferry leaving the island that day, somehow by donkey or by someone walking, I’m not sure which. In Piraeus, a taxi picked it up and brought it straight to my Athens hotel. All this was happening while I wandered around Athens and enjoyed a delicious meal. I had the most spectacular 24 days in Greece, and Hilda’s big heart helped make that possible. Thank you, Hilda! I also thoroughly enjoyed my three nights at Hotel Phaedra and highly recommend it. My spacious bedroom was on the first floor, where I loved hearing horses and donkeys clip-clop past. Breakfast on the second-floor terrace was a treat, too. The hotel is central to everything, and as a woman travelling alone I always felt safe walking around at night. I love Hotel Phaedra, Hydra Island, Greek cuisine, and the Greek People so much! The patio was so cute, and breakfast was delicious. We all found the staff super helpful and accommodating. Our “budget room” was perfect for a quick stay, and we absolutely loved Hotel Phaedra and Hydra. Highly recommend staying here when you visit. Can’t wait to go back!
