D'Andrea Mare Beach Hotel – All Inclusive

We got trapped in a dark elevator with our one-year-old, and reception brushed it off with, “It happens, it’s OK.” Earlier, the roof had leaked in our room, and the reception staff were rude and didn’t seem to care. That is not what I expect from a four-star hotel. Worst hotel I’ve ever stayed in. I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone.

The children’s area also needs attention. The swing looked close to coming apart, and there were other problems too. Food was another letdown: I wanted more variety and more fish, and the pasta was overcooked. The bathroom was the biggest issue. We arrived after 1 a.m. and found water on the floor, a dirty toilet, a stained mirror, and an old bathroom with silicone everywhere. The receptionist came up to dry the water after my husband reported it, and said he’d speak to the manager the next day. But during our seven-day stay, the floor flooded every time we showered, and no one followed up or offered to move us. Housekeeping wasn’t good either. They made the bed and mopped without vacuuming, so the room was still dirty. For a four-star hotel, cleanliness, friendliness, and food all need a lot of work. My first family vacation wasn’t much fun.

Spider was a real highlight, so friendly and helpful, and his fire show was amazing. The rest of the staff were kind too, and our stay went smoothly. The beach, though, was dirty and poorly maintained. The loungers and the path down to it could use renovation to make the experience more comfortable.

The pool needs more regular cleaning when it gets busy, and the beach could do with better upkeep. We also saw guests jumping into the water near small children and rinsing sandy feet in the pool. Having a lifeguard or another staff member there could help keep things safe and considerate. We still had a very enjoyable stay at D’Andrea Mare Beach Hotel. Our room was spacious, modern, and clean, and the restaurant served consistently good food with plenty of variety and something different each day. Staff were friendly and helpful throughout. I’d recommend it for the comfort, food, and hospitality, and with a few improvements it could be excellent.
