It seems like the renovations are nearly done, and the hotel is shaping up nicely. It's a decent place, with kind and helpful staff. The location works well too, though it's no luxury resort. I found the mattresses a bit hard, and they could be more comfortable. Also, vegan milk at breakfast would be a nice, easy addition. Seems most of the bad reviews are about how things were before or during the renovations.

The ferry delay left us exhausted in the middle of the night, but a friendly guy greeted us warmly at El Greco Hotel. The room looked old-fashioned, though it was very clean. Staff were all friendly, and breakfast was delicious, with plenty to choose from, plus tea, coffee and juice. Highly recommended 👍🧿

The reception staff were lovely and very helpful, and breakfast had enough choices for me. I was exhausted after a 17-hour boat trip from Italy, and the hotel was only five minutes from the harbour, with free car parking. My room, though, had clearly seen better days, especially the bathroom, which badly needed an upgrade. I'd read that some guests got refurbished four star rooms, but I wasn't one of them. I'd stay again if I got a better, upgraded room.

We arrived from Italy exhausted and just needed a night's sleep. The hotel is in the middle of major renovations, which may explain some of the negative reviews. Our new rooms were perfect, spotless and very spacious, like a four star hotel. Congrats!
