The hotel is terrible. The air conditioning didn't work, the rooms were extremely outdated, and the breakfast buffet was like an Embassy Suites style breakfast. I can't believe it's rated five stars, I'd give it two at best. The staff were rude, and I felt women were treated as second class citizens. During my stay, Eleni Efthimopolou grabbed my wrist forcefully and raised her other hand as if to slap me. Upper management defended her behavior. I would urge people from countries where police need probable cause or reasonable suspicion before arresting someone to be very cautious in this region. I'm not sure if the same applies throughout Greece, but here, based on my experience, someone can be arrested on one person's word against another's, held in inhumane conditions, and brought before a judge without a right to an attorney or translator. The hotel "sued" me, which in Ioannina is equivalent to being arrested, after I told others I got food poisoning from undercooked food. I didn't have medical documentation to prove it, but I believe the circumstantial evidence points to the food I was served here. My partner and I were the only ones who ate that food, without sharing it with friends or family, and we were the only ones who became ill. None of our friends, family, or hotel staff got sick, which suggested to me it wasn't a virus.

Breakfast was plentiful, high quality, and suited the whole family. The staff were very polite and ready to help throughout our stay. Our room was spotless and comfortable, with tasteful decor and all the essentials. We had an excellent stay and will choose this hotel again next time we're in Ioannina.

It's about a five minute walk to both the center and the lake, and there's a large yard with plenty of parking plus a garden where you can relax. The rooms have royal-style furniture and decor, and the service was excellent. Breakfast offered a varied selection of tasty, high-quality food. Great value for money.

Right in the heart of Ioannina, so the location is good. The staff were perfect and ready to help with any request. The facilities, especially the rooms, do need an upgrade, though.
