King Pyrros

The room hadn’t been cleaned: there was an open juice carton in the fridge, and the balcony had a bottle full of cigarette butts and a floor that looked like it hadn’t been mopped in ages. The place was dirty, old and falling apart. It doesn’t need a renovation, it needs to close completely. We stayed because it was a holiday and we felt stuck at this motel of terrors. The manager or owner seems to think he can bully people, but he’s wrong. I took photos and have witnesses. I couldn’t care less about a discount. He can use that money to hire a cleaner and renovate, or maybe change jobs and actually be of service. It’s a disgrace to the city and its location, trading on being in a good spot.

The room was clean, the staff were kind, and the location is central. Still, I wouldn’t stay again for €65 a night. Other reviewers are right that this isn’t a luxury hotel, and the photos give the impression of an “I don’t give a damn, just pay and leave” attitude, with complaints brushed off by saying it costs less than other places. There was no hot water either, which seems like grounds to ask for a refund, though who does that these days? No one was at reception when we left. That was fine, though I hope they found the keys.

We only stayed because there was nowhere else available. The room was dirty, noisy and chaotic, like the Huns and Visigoths had just passed through. When we complained about the smell, they said they’d thrown some coins into the toilet, then came with a dry Swiffer 😂 to “clean” it. The Trash of Ioannina. The Hotel Association should shut this place down immediately. If it ever does close, I’ll happily give it five stars.

The location is top-notch, but the beds were bad, the place was dirty and very old, and there was no hot water in the morning.
