Mare Blue Ios

We spent seven days and nights at Mare Blue, just steps from Gialos beach. The rooms were spotless, and the hosts were exceptionally welcoming. A great place to stay in Ios, highly recommended.

The internet was fast and reliable, even for working on MS Teams. Staff were very polite, and the location was extremely convenient. Highly recommend!

The location was the standout for me: a quiet street close to all the activity, with the port and restaurants about a 10-minute walk away. I stayed three days at Mare Blue. The rooms are basic but very clean, and the service was excellent. It has the essentials, places around the hotel to sit and meet other guests, and even a parking spot.

The location near the port was pretty good, and at least the room had air conditioning. Beyond that, it was mediocre at best. We stayed three nights, and on arrival were put in the wrong room after a miscommunication. The owners don't really speak English, which surprised me given how many international tourists visit Ios. Our actual room was meant to be a three-bed room because we wanted extra space, but it was tiny. The bathroom was small too, and the shower was the worst part: even as someone born in Europe and used to showers without curtains, I found there was barely any separation from the floor, so water got everywhere and I didn't even want to shower there. I also found quite a few spiders. There aren't private balconies, so to dry a bathing suit you have to use the shared patio. It was what you'd expect of a two-star hotel.
