Sunrise Hotel

The location was good, and I had a refurbished room that felt modern and clean, though it was small. The balcony was nice but got quite hot in the morning sun. Breakfast was below par and inconsistent.

The location is great, with lovely scenery and a beach nearby where beds cost 8 EUR. Restaurants, a supermarket, and bars are all within a five minute walk, and the area isn’t too touristy. Staff are super friendly and the atmosphere is really nice. Breakfast is good. The rooms are quite basic compared with the booking websites, but they have all the necessities. The bathrooms are typical Greek style, with small open showers that leave the whole room very wet.

The staff were extremely friendly and kind, and the whole place was spotless and very well kept by Greek standards. Still, I wouldn’t recommend staying here. We were in a basic room and hadn’t realized it wasn’t the kind shown in the adverts. It had an 80s look, and there was an exposed electrical cable, a serious safety concern for kids. The AC cost 5€ a day and, like the fridge, only ran when we were in the room. The beds were alright, but the so-called double was two singles pushed together with a 20cm gap. Single-pane windows and a frame being eaten by termites did little to block the nearby construction noise or screaming kids, which made for a convenient alarm clock. The bathroom was the pinnacle of Greek engineering, as others have described. The last renovation was probably 40 years ago. The shower was falling apart and flooded the whole room when used. The single-ply toilet paper brought back memories of school toilets. Breakfast was terrible for this price range. Calling it a buffet is wild. The “orange juice” was undrinkable, the water was tap water, and the jam was downright disgusting. The bread was good, but the supermarket ham and cheese put me off eating. When asked, of course, we were told everything was locally produced and best quality. This was the worst breakfast buffet I’ve had in Greece, and I’ve been to many others. I can’t understand how so many people give it such a good rating.

We could sit on the balcony, look at the picturesque view from the rooms, and hear the sea waves. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful, and breakfast was a great start to the day. It’s a cozy, quiet hotel run by a very welcoming family. Thanks for everything 🙏
