Golden Sun

The staff were friendly and helpful, and the food was okay, though it was very heavy on the olive oil. The pool looks lovely but the water is cold. We expected an indoor pool, but it's in another building and costs extra. The bar is plain and too small if it rains, as it did during our stay. The hotel is near the beaches, though you'll need a taxi to get to the shops.

The food was excellent every day, and George was a delight to see when we came down for meals. My friend and I had a wonderful 10 days here, starting with a very warm welcome and someone showing us to our room. It was spotless, though it was a little odd to have the basin by the front door instead of in the bathroom. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the hotel is right on the beach. We can't wait to come back next year. Thank you, Golden Sun, for such a lovely holiday!

We saw this listed as a 4-star hotel on Jet2, but it absolutely isn't. The food was average, the drinks were awful, and there were practically no facilities. Two stars at best. I was shocked by the good reviews, since everyone we spoke to during our stay was disappointed. The towels in our room were ready for the bin, and although there was a kettle and cups, there was no tea, coffee, or milk. There was no evening entertainment and nowhere comfortable to relax. The staff seemed sloppy and uninterested, and looked unkempt. The worst 4-star hotel I've stayed in.

We spent a week at Golden Sun in early October, and trying to sunbathe meant fending off wasps. The pool bar was swarming with them too, and nobody seemed to be doing anything about it. A total disgrace. The one bright spot was George in the restaurant and John at the bar. They both deserve a medal. This was advertised as a 4-star hotel, but no way.
