Akti Taygetos Conference Resort

The pool, rooms, and shared areas were all clean, and the resort is close to the beach. The staff were very friendly. They found out it was my birthday and left a bottle of wine and a food basket in the room with a really cute note. Breakfast had plenty of choice and was good quality.

We had a comfortable room with all the amenities we needed, and could rent towels too. There’s a private beach with a great beach bar, where we enjoyed drinks by the sea, plus a lovely pool with another bar. Breakfast was excellent, with a stunning view. The staff were incredibly helpful, and one person even carried our luggage all the way to the room. There’s also a cigar bar with a wide selection, and massages can be booked at very reasonable prices. Akti Taygetos Conference Resort made for a great mix of comfort, service, and ways to relax. Highly recommended if you’re visiting Kalamata!

The two twin beds pushed together instead of a proper bed for two made it very hard to rest during our three night stay, and I ended up with back pain. Breakfast was also upsetting: my husband and I were singled out and asked to prove we were staying there, though I saw no other guests get asked. It felt embarrassing and unnecessary. The front desk staff seemed polite at first, but their manner soon came across as insincere, and on more than one occasion felt microaggressive and unwelcoming. The hotel has lovely views and is away from the tourist crowds, so it initially seemed like a charming, romantic getaway for couples. But the service and lack of genuine hospitality made the stay unpleasant. I can’t recommend it to travelers seeking somewhere relaxing and welcoming.

There are several venues to meet guests’ needs, and the hotel is beautiful and well maintained. The staff and management were wonderful. I’d definitely choose this resort for a family vacation.
