Bungalows at Almiros Beach

Everything about the place has a magnetic feel, just unbelievable. The host is a great guy, too. I'll definitely be back.

We booked both bungalows for five nights and had an amazing time. They were stunning, with spacious rooms that were thoughtfully decorated, and the grounds were beautiful. There's private access to the beach, though the beach can also be reached by the public. We come to Kalamata in the summers and will definitely book again. It really felt like paradise. We also used the bungalows to get ready for a wedding, with the bridal party in one and the groomsmen in the other. There was just the right amount of space for family that day, as well as the photographers, videographers, hair, and makeup teams.

The big windows gave us a beautiful view, but sadly birds kept flying into them. Three died during our eight-day stay, and nobody seemed to be looking after them. The location itself is perfect, right on the beach with an almost private feel. Still, the apartment cost more than its condition justified. The bathrooms looked dirty, there was a lot of street noise, and paint covered every surface, even the bathroom floor.

The bed was wonderful, and the HVAC was quiet, cool, and well maintained. We also liked the yard and how close the beach was, especially the lovely fountains with cool water from Taygetos flowing toward the Messinian bay. But for the price, the materials and finish felt disappointing, and the bathroom and its door could work better. The rooms are very exposed to the beach, too. Some people wandered in from the beach while no staff were around, so I had to ask them to leave. There are some good ideas here, but the place felt more suited to wedding receptions than a relaxing stay, and the price seemed high for the level of professionalism.
