The worst place we've stayed, and completely unacceptable. We've been travelling around Greece for six weeks and stayed in many accommodations, but this was by far the worst. We booked five nights and left early because the place felt unclean, unhealthy, and unsatisfactory. There was hair on the bathroom floor when we arrived, and later we noticed mold across the bathroom ceiling, as shown in the photos. Large cockroaches were the last straw. We killed one and saw others. Despite this evidence, the owner wouldn't refund the final two nights we couldn't stay, while we had to find somewhere else. The apartment is really a basement, with very low ceilings. If you're over six feet tall, about 1.83 meters, you'll likely hit your head. There's little natural light, and the tiny basement windows are all on one wall. The kitchen has very few amenities, not even a coffee maker, just a kettle for hot water. We found far better places for the same or a better price. I'm sure the owner will try to dispute this and discredit us as guests, but the photos don't lie. They cancelled our reservation on the booking site, so we couldn't leave a review there to warn other travellers. I don't usually write negative reviews, but this was beyond bad and people need to know.

The garden was a nice place to unwind, with toys for children and a full-size cot. Our room was clean, cool, and tidy, and the kitchenette was handy. The hosts were friendly, and Kalamata was an easy drive away. The low ceilings were the one drawback: my husband is 1.9m tall and couldn't stand up straight.

We left almost as soon as we saw the basement-like rental space. The hosts stay on the normal-looking first floor, but the part offered to guests has very low ceilings. Anyone close to 1.80m will hit their head. Getting to the place also involves a climb, so it isn't practical for walks nearby, and it's far from the sea and places with more going on. Guest parking is in full sun while the hosts' spaces are shaded. They did help with our luggage and welcomed us with ice cream, which was the only good part. When it was clear we were uncomfortable, a refund wasn't considered unless we cancelled, and then only a small portion would be refundable. I've never stayed somewhere worse.

It was a peaceful, cozy place to stay, with everything we needed. We especially liked having our own outdoor dining spot with a sea view.
