Politia Hotel

Kathisma beach and Agios Nikitas are both beautiful and very close by, which is a big plus. The hotel itself is mediocre and needs renovation, especially at these prices. We paid 85€ a day for a room that should have cost 50€ at most. Breakfast was the worst part. I found old breadcrumbs in the praline bowl, as if leftovers from the previous day had been put back in. The rest of breakfast was bad too. At checkout, the hostess asked for cash because she didn't want to give me a legal invoice.

The only real plus was the location, which made it convenient to see the whole island, and the cleaners were the sweetest, very kind and willing to do what they could. The pool was frustrating, packed with noisy children who ignored the posted rules, with nobody from the hotel in charge and no lifeguard. The balconies were tiny and didn't even have enough ropes to hang a towel. Getting in and out felt like a death race, since you can't see the road at all and it has many sharp turns. It seemed very likely someone could have an accident. The room itself was dirty, with hair and rubbish on the floor. The furniture looked nothing like the website photos and was older than my grandmother. The doors, including the front, inside, and balcony doors, were rotten and swollen from moisture, and wouldn't open or close properly. There was no bin in the room, and asking the receptionist for one was disappointing. The air conditioner was a complete letdown, locked at one temperature and making a tractor-like noise. Sheets and towels weren't changed unless requested after at least four days. Service from the practically nonexistent reception was awful. The woman in charge was extremely rude and unwilling to help. The bathroom had no siphon and miserable facilities, and the basin wasn't disinfected, which seemed necessary during the COVID-19 pandemic. There was no real privacy or soundproofing, just plasterboard everywhere, so during our stay we learned everything about the families in the other rooms. Avoid breakfast and other meals here. Everything was stale, the ingredients were poor quality or mishandled, and the breakfast options were very limited: cheese, tomatoes, bread at least three days old, and stale frozen sausages. There's no access for people with mobility problems, and they weren't following the necessary COVID-19 measures. I wouldn't stay here again or recommend it.

The room was spotless and had all the comforts we needed. The place is really well organized, with a pool, a bar with a kitchen, and parking very close to the room. They even helped us sort out a room while we were outside without one. I really recommend it.

My wife and I loved staying at this hotel. The rooms were cozy, and we had a lovely view of the nature around us. The beach wasn't far away.
