Creta Vitalis

Julia kept our rooms comfortable and spotless, and breakfast was fresh and delicious. Rania and Euvageli also did so much to make our stay special. Nicko’s family-run hotel made us feel welcome as soon as we arrived. Thanks to Nicko and the whole family for having us. Highly recommend!

The location was the one real letdown, though it’s not the hotel’s fault. It’s far from everything, taxis are unavailable or very expensive, and there are no sidewalks, so walking means using the road and hoping cars miss you. The hotel itself was lovely, with friendly staff, a tasty breakfast, and a clean, warm pool with plenty of sunbeds. The stunning beach is about a 10-minute walk away. You can hear planes during the day, but that didn’t cause us any problems.

We were very happy with the Junior Suite’s sea view and layout. It was a good size, with two separate bedrooms that worked well for the children. The pool has lots of room, and there’s a small coffee bar for drinks and snacks. Kalatha Beach is about a 10-minute walk, though getting there means using the main road, which can be tricky. Chania is a 15-20 minute drive away. The staff welcomed us warmly and gave us clear directions and information to make the stay easy. We’d seen comments about mold and constant planes overhead, but there was no mold in our room. Planes do fly over, though it wasn’t a bother for us, and our child found them entertaining. Creta Vitalis was a wonderful place for our summer holiday.

The rooms were clean and modern, and it’s close to the beach and several restaurants. But the staff were the best part, so friendly and helpful. I found this place during a three-month trip around the Mediterranean, and it’s been my favorite stop so far. I’ll definitely come back.
