Villa Elysium in Kalathos

The building itself is lovely, with a large pool, a gorgeous view, and a handy location for visiting different places. But cleanliness and upkeep were poor. The kitchenette hadn't been cleaned at all, the floor was dirty, and the poolside tiles left the bottoms of our bare feet black. Several garden lights were out, and the rest barely lit the area. There was no coffee machine despite one appearing in the photos, which mattered to us because we drink espresso. We also got no help with the Wi-Fi. The air conditioner caused a lot of discomfort, especially in the living room, and we only got assistance on day six after insisting. Wasps and hornets were gathering near the barbecue. We set two traps and dealt with them ourselves, though that shouldn't have been our job. There was no welcome pack, dishwasher tablets, or washing powder either. This is the first time in ten years of visiting Greece that we've had this happen. There's more I could say, but I'll stop here. Replace the maintenance company for this otherwise nice property, and pay attention to how you treat guests. We're the ones paying you.
