Amada Colossos Resort

The water slides kept both kids and adults entertained, and our room was spotless and in great shape. What stood out most, though, was the dining room: the food, range of choices, and service were among the best I’ve experienced. Every staff member we met was warm, professional, and happy to go the extra mile. We enjoyed the whole stay and would gladly recommend the hotel for a memorable break.

The sunrise over the sea was a lovely bonus from our room, if you’re up early enough. We found plenty to do around the complex, with shops, bars, and entertainment, so the hotel’s remote setting didn’t bother us. It suited a relaxed all-inclusive break, and the sunbeds we saw were all in good condition, despite a review from October 3rd claiming they were broken. The property felt well looked after. Our room was cleaned thoroughly each day, and the staff were friendly throughout. Rafael and Thomas at the two pool bars deserve a mention: they greeted us with a smile, remembered us from the first day, and had our usual drinks ready before we asked. A couple of things could be better: English TV channels are limited, and the TV and Wi-Fi sometimes shut down and restart unexpectedly. Still, we had a fantastic stay and would happily return to the Amada Colossus, which I’d recommend for a friendly, relaxing holiday in Rhodes.

The views from around the property were lovely, and the facilities were always clean. The bar staff were friendly, and the buffet waitresses did a great job. We did notice guests from different countries seemed to be treated very differently, which was disappointing and is why I’ve rated the service four stars. Food varied from day to day. Some meals were tasty, while others seemed as if they’d been microwaved. There appeared to be more effort at weekends, when new arrivals were expected. The room toilet was very open, though that didn’t bother us. The pool toilets had the same frosted glass doors with no locks, which sometimes made us feel unsafe because anyone could walk in. One lift broke a few days into our stay and wasn’t repaired before the busy Saturday. There were stairs and other lifts, but no signs pointing them out, so lots of people seemed to wait a long time. We had a nice holiday, but aren’t sure we’d come back.

The resort is large, yet easy to get around and well organized. Even with lots of families there, it stayed peaceful and quiet, which made it a very relaxing stay. Our room was modern, comfortable, spotless, and just as shown in the photos. There was a great variety of tasty dishes each day in the huge main restaurant. The entertainment added to the atmosphere without taking over, and the staff were welcoming, friendly, and ready to help. The whole place felt elegant and calm. It exceeded our expectations, and we couldn’t have asked for a better holiday.
