Blue Lagoon Palace

Our Junior Suite with Private Pool was near the main bar, so we got better drinks in proper glasses and dealt with the pool bar only twice. Both times, the two men working there, one at the counter and one delivering drinks to loungers, ignored us waiting and carried on chatting. They seemed uninterested in engaging or even smiling. That stood out because the main bar, restaurant, housekeeping and lifeguard staff were all lovely, as were most of the other staff we met. We had a great week at TUI Blue Lagoon Palace and would happily return. The hotel is beautiful, has everything you need on site, and is only a 30 second walk from its lovely beach. Since it's so remote, having everything there is useful. The food was tasty with a good range, despite what we'd read in some reviews, though sometimes it could have been hotter. The heat lamps didn't seem very effective, so getting piping hot food depended on timing. This is clearly a place for couples. We hardly saw groups larger than two. It suits a quiet day floating in the pool with a book and a couple of drinks after dinner. We wanted a relaxing break, so that worked well for us, but anyone after a party atmosphere should look elsewhere. We liked having lunch à la carte in the Culinarium restaurant rather than eating buffet meals all day. The menu and food quality were good. We skipped our included evening meal there after reading several recent accounts of poor experiences, for what that's worth. In the main bar, evening drinks are table service. The staff were working hard, but an extra bartender and a few servers would have helped. It got better as the week went on. One early evening we waited around ten minutes with empty glasses, trying to catch someone's attention. On other nights, someone came by as we were nearly finished, so drinks arrived at a good pace. We also noticed some timings on the hotel TV information screen were wrong, including the opening times for the main pool and pool bar, which opened later than listed. We felt lucky with our room location, close to the main bar and away from the pool bar. Thanks to all the staff who made us feel welcome, especially the TUI reps Chloe and Claire, who were friendly and helpful. For a couple looking to relax in the sun somewhere quiet, this hotel is well worth considering.

We went in late June and early July, and especially enjoyed the Pool Party and silent disco. The entertainment was good, while the hotel itself and the rooms were beautiful. Claire from the TUI team was particularly friendly and made a lasting impression. The resort is quiet and remote. We rented a car, and I can see it being a bit limiting if you haven't planned ahead, since we didn't see any hire cars at the hotel. Lunch and the à la carte meals were fantastic. Every one we had was delicious and the service was great. The buffet was more mixed: breakfast was fine, but some evening options felt limited. Still, you can't expect to like every buffet dish. Drinks took a while because the bar uses table service and often had just one bartender. That got better as the week went on. There was always a free lounger by the pool, so no need to rush for a spot. Watch out for the beach boardwalk, though. It isn't secured and lifts when people walk on it, and we saw a few people trip. We thoroughly enjoyed the week. It's a lovely choice for a quiet adults-only holiday with some entertainment, rather than a party hotel. A great place to relax.

We spent our days relaxing by the lovely pool, especially enjoying the couples' beds set up in the water. Our suite had a hot tub on the balcony and stunning views over the sea and pool. The weather gave us sunshine every day, and the coastline was great for our daily walks along the sand. There isn't much to do around the resort, which suited us, and planned excursions were available for anyone who wanted them. The hospitality was five star. The hotel was beautiful and spotless, with daily room service, fresh bedding, towels and robes. Food was fresh with plenty of choice, and the à la carte was superb. Staff couldn't do enough for us. Drinks were premium, with a wide selection of cocktails, wine and spirits. The TUI team were around every day, and there was evening entertainment. Chloe, Claire and Chrissy were brilliant. We'd definitely return for another truly relaxing five star holiday.

We arrived for our honeymoon at the end of May to find rose petals on the bed and champagne waiting in the room. Our private pool was clean and warm every day, and the food was incredible with loads of choice. The staff were the best part, all friendly, helpful and happy to go above and beyond. There was something fun each day, from fire dances and jazz evenings to a casino night, so we never got bored. Thanks to everyone for making our honeymoon so memorable. We'll definitely be back ❤️😎❤️
