Sifnaika Konakia ~ Armada Residence

Kamares beach is an easy seven-minute walk away, with a gently shelving sandy shore that’s great for swimming and plenty of sunbeds and shades. We had a 10 day August break in Sifnos with our two teenage daughters, and Sifnaika Konakia was ideal for us. Our double room was downstairs from the twin room the girls shared, which had a sea-view balcony. Both rooms were clean, spacious, traditionally furnished, and spotless after daily cleaning. They had ensuite bathrooms, tea and coffee facilities, plates, bowls and cutlery, a fridge, wardrobe, drawers, safe, air conditioning, and pretty shuttered doors and windows opening onto a balcony with seats. Maria is warm and welcoming, and nothing was too much trouble for her or the team. Every morning she prepared abundant breakfasts for guests to take back to their rooms, with different homemade Sifnos treats alongside familiar cereals. Her homemade jams and chutneys used fruit she grew herself, and everything was delicious and made with love. We took the excellent local bus to explore the island, and Maria helped us choose places to go and the best times, including a walk from Faros to Chrisopigi for good snorkelling and a visit to Kastro to explore the beautiful old town. Sifnos is known for its wonderful food, and there are excellent Tavernas everywhere, with so much choice and pride in what they serve. I'd also suggest trying some Sifnos treats at a bakery while you're there. Thank you, Maria and team, for the warm hospitality and lovely stay. We'll definitely be back sometime!

That balcony view over the sea and the lovely garden below was a highlight, and the bed and pillows were really comfortable. I stayed for two weeks while looking to relax, enjoy the food and explore the island, and Sifnaika Konakia was just right. The room was clean, and Maria greeted me with a big smile each day and made me feel at home. Breakfast was different every morning, with plenty to choose from. It’s only a three-minute walk to town. I’d happily stay again.

The room was very comfortable, with a balcony looking out to sea, and the location was great. Maria was a superb host, always ready to help and never making anything feel like trouble. Breakfast was excellent too. I’d definitely come back.
