Villa Mina Apartments

The family running the place were nice and helpful when we arrived, and both the location and pool area were stunning. Our room was nice too, but there was an ant problem they were trying to treat, and the dead ants hadn't been cleaned up. We also missed small extras like tea and coffee in the room. When we ate outside, several cats came over begging for food. These were little things that took some of the shine off what could be a stunning place.

The pool had a gorgeous view across the island, and our room's little terrace was lovely. The hotel is spacious enough that it felt like we had the island to ourselves. It's well placed for getting around, about ten minutes from the port, Plaka, and some great beaches. We really enjoyed the hotel, just keep in mind that breakfast isn't included.

I called to book a room, and the woman offered me a cash rate without a receipt. I agreed, but three hours before I was due to arrive, she called back to say the price would be 30% higher because she'd made a mistake. If the error was hers, she should have been honest with customers and offered some kind of solution, even splitting the difference between the two prices. The staff were unprofessional.

The pool was huge and crystal clear, with a mountain top view over the harbor. There were plenty of places to lounge in the shade, and the limited number of guests kept things relaxing. Peter pointed us toward great restaurants and good spots for snorkeling and swimming. This family run hotel has a lovely intimate feel and stunning views. The beds were comfortable and the Air Conditioning was powerful. It's minutes from the harbor and Sarakiniko, with easy access to much of the island. The soft breezes and sunsets over the mountains were lovely. I'd rent an ATV or car to make the most of Milos.
