The best thing for us was how peaceful it was. We wanted somewhere to relax, and this family-run complex of around 10-15 apartments was just right. We stayed for two weeks and had an excellent time. The apartment had basic cooking facilities, a fridge-freezer, and some utensils. The apartments are set around a small pool for cooling off, and the sea is about 200 metres away. There’s also a small restaurant open all day, serving excellent homemade Cretan dishes. To get to other towns, walk about 200 metres up to the main road and catch a public bus, which comes every 20 minutes. I highly recommend this place and would love to return.

Michalis and his wife Maria are some of the kindest, warmest people I’ve met. They cook authentic Greek food and help with anything you need. The place is lovely and well located, just 100 metres from the beach, where there was nobody when we went. If you’d rather stay outside the city’s tourist centre, it’s a perfect choice. The bus stop is close, and Platanias is only a 10-15 minute ride away. A great place to unwind.

My wife and I spent seven nights here and loved how it was away from the touristy areas. The beach is just a two-minute walk away. Michalis and Maria were top notch, and the restaurant serves homemade-quality food. I strongly recommend it if you’re after real Greek food. The atmosphere was relaxed, and it felt like a home away from home. Thank you, Michalis and Maria. We’ll be back!

We stayed for just under two weeks and had an amazing time. Michalis and his wife are two of the best people you could meet. We arrived quite late at the wrong place, but when I called, he came to find us. He even made us food at midnight. The food is incredible, and whenever we had a problem, he came to help. The location was perfect for us, with the beach within walking distance and plenty of restaurants nearby. If you want a calm holiday somewhere welcoming that feels like home, this is the place.

I travelled alone and felt so welcome during my week here. Michalis and his wife Maria run this place with all their heart, and keep it clean and lovely. Their Cretan food is delicious, cooked from scratch. The beach is beautiful and peaceful, only a five-minute walk away, and buses run up the road towards Kolumbari and Chania. It was a paradise-like place for a perfect, restorative holiday. I feel thankful 🙏💞♥️👍
