Porto Scoutari Romantic Hotel & Suites

The sunrise and sunset from our balcony were highlights, and our room was immaculately clean and beautifully presented. Elina and Kiki made our stay wonderful. Elina was such a gracious, caring, and helpful host, and nothing was too much trouble. We left Patmos with heavy hearts, but with wonderful memories of a lovely hotel and host. Thank you, Elina!

I returned after 15-20 years and was very disappointed that loyalty seems to mean little to the management. I stayed for 9 days across August and September 2024. My original 7-day booking was confirmed and paid in advance. I asked to add two days and pay when I arrived. The receptionist agreed by email, then charged the card from my original booking anyway. That felt like borderline fraud. On arrival, I got what was probably one of the worst rooms in the hotel, but I didn't complain. The internet didn't work: I could connect to the AP, but there was no access to the internet. The receptionist said I had the wrong password, checked it and saw it was right, then claimed Apple devices needed to be registered and that this would take 15-30 minutes. I’d never heard of that before, and it seemed like a convenient excuse. I have 15 years of ISP experience, and the idea that my device had to be registered was rubbish. I bought a prepaid SIM card and that ended the connectivity problem. The room faced west and the afternoon sun blazed in at 30-35 degrees. The air conditioner and fridge both worked poorly. I woke up in the middle of the night soaked in sweat and asked the receptionist to fix the AC or move me. I had to remind them twice. When the maintenance guy finally came, he was very rude and said he’d fixed it, but he hadn't. I woke up in a pool of sweat several times a night. At breakfast, the owner verbally attacked me in front of all the guests, loudly saying I’d paid a “special” room rate and had no right to complain about anything. The owner treated several other guests the same way during the week over different issues. I’d had enough, found another place on the island with working facilities and no attitude, and checked out early. I never asked for a refund for the prepaid days I didn't use. The location is fantastic, but that's where the good ends. The hotel is very tired and needs a complete overhaul, from its systems and internet to the pool, grounds, and everything else. I won't return until everything is refurbished, including the management.

A fantastic hotel with a great history and ambience, and probably the best views in town. The owner is extremely friendly and polite, and the staff are polite and efficient. There’s an excellent pool with sunbeds, plus a freshly prepared breakfast with local fruit, cooked eggs and meats, and delicious fresh pastries.

Maybe the best hotel in Patmos. I hate to see it get even more popular, since finding a place here in the coming years could be very difficult. You need to rent a car or motorcycle to see the whole island.
