Akti Palace Hotel - All inclusive

The staff were friendly and worked hard, and I loved the mountain views and how close the beach was. Food was nice and available throughout the day. A few things could be better: the rooms need maintenance, and many sunbeds were damaged. Slippery rocks made getting into the sea difficult. The à la carte restaurants were okay, though the shrimp soup at the Asian restaurant was particularly bad. A very good stay overall, I’d give it four stars 🌞

The beach loungers were broken, sticky with food and drink, and nothing like what was advertised. Our stay at Akti palace was a huge disappointment, and what we paid didn’t feel worth it. We had several problems. The room wasn’t ready when it was time to check in, and the mini bar, towels, and soap hadn’t been put in. The rooms were shabby and badly needed some care. We also asked for a packed lunch two days before our excursion, but it wasn’t ready. We missed the bus and the cruise we had paid for, and no one took responsibility or apologized. It also felt highly unprofessional to see admin staff eating breakfast and lunch while we were there. We won’t be returning. This hotel definitely isn’t 5-star material.

The hotel grounds are beautifully landscaped and kept in great shape. Another real plus is that guests can use the pools, bars, and restaurants at the nearby Beach Club and Adults Only hotels. We’ve been to Greece seven times, and by Greek standards this hotel was a pleasant surprise. Our room was around 30 sq. m, spacious and well equipped with a free safe, TV, separate sofa, coffee maker, and mini bar restocked daily. Housekeeping came every day and kept it clean and comfortable. The outdoor pools were cleaned each morning and well maintained. In October the water was a bit cool, but still refreshing. There’s an indoor heated pool too, which you can book in advance. The beach is narrow and sandy, though the way into the sea is rocky, so water shoes are a good idea. Food was varied and good, and we could always find something tasty. We especially liked lunch at the Pool Bar, where there was a big selection and everything we tried was delicious. Drinks included Pepsi products and rather sweet juices. The alcoholic drinks, including Campari, Metaxa, Smirnoff, and Baileys, were probably the best I’ve had at a Greek hotel. The staff were friendly and did their best, but drinks in the main restaurant, especially coffee and tea, could take a long time or be missed altogether. A self-service coffee machine like the neighboring hotels have would help. Drink service in the à la carte restaurants could be better too. For the price, it was excellent value. We’d give it 9 out of 10 and would happily return.
