Grand Blue Beach Hotel

We had a superb, relaxing holiday during October half term. The hotel is lovely, with great staff, tasty food, several pools and places to relax, plus a well equipped gym. It's ideally placed near Kardamena Town. We hired a car for two days to explore Kos, but keep an eye on prices. Eating out isn't cheap, and fuel was £1.87 a litre compared with £1.27 in the UK at the time. We were there for the hotel's last week of the season, so it felt very personal, which suited us. The main entertainment did stop after our second night, though. Remember to bring UNO!

We were a family of four in room 320 for seven nights, and I'd happily stay here again if I returned to Kos. The hotel and its staff did a great job of making us feel welcome. Thanks to Maria the manager and the team. There are three pools and the beach is just a two minute walk away. The hotel is great, with good facilities, plenty of food and drinks, and a good selection for everyone. The town centre is about a ten minute walk away.

My first solo trip couldn't have gone better. The stay left me happy and recharged, and made me fall in love with travelling alone and with this place. I'd definitely return. The hotel has a quiet, peaceful feel and lovely scenery, with views of both sea and mountains. It's a gorgeous spot for a getaway, whether you're on your own or with others. The staff were all friendly and helpful, and Martha at reception was especially kind and welcoming. I stayed for seven days in a lovely room. Housekeeping came daily with fresh towels and changed the sheets almost every day. Breakfast was good, with plenty of nice choices, though it became a little repetitive after a few days. The pool isn't heated, but I still enjoyed it and the beautiful views around it. The hotel is quite large, and its hills can be tiring to walk, but you can call a golf cart from your room to get around easily. WiFi is available and worked in almost every area. The beach is just across the entrance, so it's easy to pop over. Kardamaina is about a 15-20 minute walk away, with nice places to eat and shops to explore. Kos Town is also worth seeing, around a 40 minute bus ride away, with nice sights and restaurants. A lovely blend of relaxation, scenery and great service. I put together a Greece bachelor trip for my best friend's wedding, where I was best man, and chose the Grand Blue beach hotel. I had hesitated after reading some negative reviews, but they turned out to be completely unfounded for our stay. We had a wonderful time, with a great atmosphere, impressive facilities and good food. The staff were welcoming and friendly, and our rooms were perfectly clean each time we got back from a night out. Every room had a lovely view over the pool or sea. I'd give it 10/10 and will be back as soon as I get the chance!
