Avra Rooms

The bathroom was down the hall, but it was private to us, and the shower worked well with really hot water. We also had a sink in the room, though it had no hot water. I mentioned this on booking(.)com, and the host said he wanted to check it. The room was clean and spacious enough for a short stay, with a nicely ornamented terrazzo floor, comfortable beds, bright reading lights, enough storage and plenty of hooks. There was a mini fridge and an electric kettle with cups. The place is simple and low budget, a reasonable summer price for Karpathos and fine for a short stay. Giorgos (George) welcomed us warmly and communicated well. He runs a small coffee and mini snack bar downstairs. Everything is within easy walking distance. There isn't fixed air conditioning, but because of the excessive heat Giorgos kindly brought in a portable unit. It might sound loud if you're sensitive to noise. The hose meant the window was ajar, and our room faced the street side of the courtyard, so we heard traffic. This is an update after the owner's friendly note about Pigadia prices in high season.
