Makronas Apartments

The terrace was lovely at any hour, but especially magical at night and in the morning when there was a full moon. These apartments offer a different kind of nature stay, away from the bustle of Karystos center. The place is well arranged, with built-in benches and tables beside the spring of Agioi Theodoroi, across from the small church of the same name. It’s shaded by a huge plane tree, and we could hear the water rushing almost under our feet throughout our stay. From the apartments, the panoramic view over Myloi and the surrounding area makes up for the difficult route up to the village’s highest point, where its center once stood. Kokkinokastro is almost next door and worth visiting if it isn’t windy. There are also three taverns among the plane trees on the way up, so you can eat nearby without heading far from the room. The apartments are comfortable, organized, and good for families, and the owner is very kind and hospitable. Myloi takes its name from its old watermills, and the springs beneath tall trees are one of the village’s defining features.
