The welcome drink and honey biscuits at reception were a nice touch, but the spa access costs extra even though the hotel describes itself as a spa. The basics in the room also felt short of five-star standard: only two half-liter water bottles were provided for three nights, and we had to ask for them. Nothing was topped up automatically, including the bathroom vanity kit. The three tea bags were good quality, while the two coffee sticks were just basic instant coffee. The bathroom was the biggest problem. There’s no ventilation, heated towel rail, or proper place to hang towels, so realistically each towel was only usable once. There’s a kettle inside a closed wardrobe, which also made me wonder about the humidity and airflow. The advertised lake view wasn’t really a lake view, mostly the roof of the building in front. Two Daikin outdoor AC units below our window ran day and night, making constant noise. The bed was firm even with the topper, and the pillows were high and hard, so we had to ask for different ones during the night to sleep comfortably.

We booked through Booking expecting a proper five-star stay, but left very disappointed. At checkout there was an extra €15 “weather tax” that hadn’t been mentioned when we booked. Staff said it was a new tax introduced in 2025. Maybe so, but we’d stayed at several other Greek hotels just before this and none charged anything similar. The room was disappointing too. The blankets were so dusty that moving them sent clouds of dust into the air. The minibar had just two bottles of water and one ice cream. Breakfast was mostly cheap ingredients with very little choice. The property clearly hasn’t been renovated in years, and it shows. The “spa resort” was another letdown. Entry costs €10 per person, which would be fine if the facilities worked: the sauna was out of order, the jacuzzi had cold water, and the steam room was barely warm. If you’re expecting a luxury spa stay and a good breakfast included, I’d look elsewhere.

We spent three nights here over Christmas with our family, and it was one of the best value-for-money hotels we’ve stayed at. The facilities were clean, the spa overlooking the lake was amazing, and breakfast was superb and plentiful. We’d definitely return.

The gym is a real highlight, spacious and extremely well equipped, with only one machine out of order. The Wi-Fi there didn’t work, though. Getting in is awkward: you can see the entrance, but at some times you have to go through the spa, and at others the door is locked and you need to ask about another entrance. Breakfast was excellent, with a relaxed feel by the pool and a view, and you can ask for anything that isn’t out. It would be better if it started earlier than 7:30am, especially for older guests, hikers, and people travelling. Parking is also tricky because of the layout, and can fill up during outside events or weddings. There’s no valet, so some people take two spaces with poor parking. The building complex is oddly laid out, with two receptions, and it isn’t obvious which one you need. Breakfast is in another building, as is the pool. Once we found the right reception, we were told about some strange restrictions on spa and amenity hours. The lake views from the rooms may be the reason for the design, but electricity poles spoil them anyway. Our room was okay, but the lamp didn’t work and had been dangerously patched with electrical tape. The phone didn’t work through its designated buttons, there was no iron, and the shower was powerful but made it hard to keep water off the floor. The next day the lamp still hadn’t been fixed, so we insisted and eventually got it working. The ironing board had been taken away, and we had to ask for it back. It seems they only have one for everyone. The pool was a good size and nicely set up, but the water was freezing. There were no towels or bar service, which felt like a missed opportunity. This doesn’t feel like a resort or a five-star hotel.
