The village has nice places to eat and drink, an interesting souvenir shop, and a few small sandy beaches. Just plan groceries ahead: there's no bakery or large supermarket in the area. The two local shops carry basics, and bread is available at one of them around 10:00-10:30 on weekdays only. The stay itself was great, with recently renovated, very clean rooms and wonderfully friendly hosts. The terrace and view are beautiful too.

The owners, Sterios and Athina, did everything they could to make our visit a perfect holiday. The apartments are new and clean, right beside a small sandy beach.

A peaceful, one-of-a-kind place right on the beachfront. Thank you for everything and for being such great hosts!

I was there on an August weekend, and the area was very crowded. Without a reservation, we couldn't get a table at the tavernas. I'd love to return this summer during the week, when I can enjoy the area more. Kastri Mare was a great choice for a solo trip: the owners live on site and were kind and welcoming, which made me feel safe. The room was clean and comfortable, with a lovely terrace and sea view, and the surroundings were quiet. The beach is right in front, while the section with umbrellas and sunbeds is just a few minutes away.
