Bomo Tosca Beach Hotel

The beach chairs were so comfortable that we could happily spend our days there, and the view from the top spot was great. We stayed for a week in rooms 307 and 308, right where all the action is. The staff were lovely and helpful, and housekeeping did a great job. The food has a hearty Balkan, soul food feel. Thanks to everyone at tosca for everything.

The beach is nice enough, but the area feels a little crowded. There are several beers to choose from and even champagne, though the restaurant at the back has more of a school canteen feel. Compared with other beach clubs on this side of Kavala, it doesn't make the best impression.

We were disappointed by the food, which was tasteless and poor quality. The restaurant terrace has an amazing view, but bees made it impossible to sit and eat. The staff in the restaurant did their jobs well, though. Our room was also a letdown. We were given accommodation for disabled guests, the bathroom kept flooding, the terrace was never cleaned, and there were ants inside. One day the water was off completely. Reception turned it back on after we called, but another family with three small children still had no resolution and had to come to dinner unwashed. At the beach, a waiter told us to leave the sunbeds we had taken on our first day because they were reserved for “special guests,” even though we had Ultra All Inclusive. The bar selection was very poor, freshly squeezed juice cost extra, and the beach waiters never brought drinks to us. We had to fetch them ourselves, so it didn't feel like Ultra All Inclusive at all. The beach was cleaned every day, and the sea was clean too, but there were strong waves daily. The seabed was full of sharp pebbles that could cut your feet. It's sandy on the beach, but not in the water. For what we paid, the experience was worth less than half. I wouldn't return or recommend this hotel.

The staff are what make this hotel special. Everyone we met, from reception to the bar, restaurant, and beach, provided excellent service. We've vacationed here two years in a row and would recommend it, with a good chance we'll come back. It's a peaceful, beautiful setting, especially suited to families. The sandy beach has a gentle, gradual entry into clean water, and there are enough free, comfortable umbrellas and sunbeds for all hotel guests. Food is varied and tasty, with meat, seafood, and fish always available and well prepared. The drinks could be better, including the juices, beer, and wine. The accommodation is generally fine, though the comfort and atmosphere depend on the type you choose, from average to outstanding.
