Island Beach Resort - Adults Only

The staff were kind and helpful throughout, from reception to housekeeping and the bar. The Island Beach Resort Kavos sits right on the beach, just off the main road, with absolutely stunning views. We visited in May, out of season, and the relaxed atmosphere suited us well. I'd recommend booking trips such as a boat cruise to Paxos/Antipaxos. The rooms were spacious, simple, and clean enough for a beach holiday. The walls are thin, though, and Kavos is a party destination popular with groups of friends, so it can get noisy at night. Light sleepers should bring headphones or earplugs. Pool cabanas and beach loungers cost extra, so keep that in mind.

We genuinely didn't feel safe for the whole trip. I came here last year for a week with my friend, and we were two teenage girls. The staff made us extremely uncomfortable. After we came back from nights out, the night manager Alkias and Fabio insinuated that they wanted to sleep with us. They knocked on our hotel door trying to get us to “see the stars” with them, as they put it, and threatened that they could access our room at any time with a master key. On the first night, a gentleman walked us back to the hotel without intending to come in. When the night manager saw the boys come in with us, he got verbally aggressive, sent them away, and said we'd be kicked out by morning. That's no way to treat guests. As we were leaving, the day manager forced us to write a positive review. The staff were horrific and made the hotel feel unsafe and uncomfortable, especially for girls.

At first I felt a little apprehensive when we were dropped off on the street, but appearances were deceptive. We were welcomed and shown around. It turned out to be a lovely, friendly hotel with clean rooms and a reasonably priced breakfast. The pool was a bit cold, but welcome in the heat. The only downside was that the hot water broke for a day, then was fixed the next day.

The staff made us feel so welcome, and the rooms and pool were lovely and clean. We had a really good stay and will definitely come back.
