Kalypso Studios Resorts

We'd seen mixed reviews beforehand, but ended up really pleased with our stay. Our flat had four single beds and plenty of space for all of us. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the cleaners kept coming regularly. Our flight was late, so after checkout the owner kindly let us use another room for a couple of hours at no cost. That room was for two, quite small, and not as nice as the one we'd booked. Maybe that explains some of the negative reviews, but for the price and location we thought it was more than enough. It's a three-minute walk from what I think is the better end of the strip, while still being far enough away that the noise didn't bother us. We'd come back.

We went for the cheapest room, and for a party trip all you really need is more than two beds and a balcony. The price was low, and there’s a pool, a bar with drinks, and very friendly staff. Parties are close by, but if you stay on a party street, you’ll regret the noise. The hotel has clearly seen better days, but when you’re there to party, you don't need anything more. Recommend.

The best part of Kalypso studio apartments was the staff. Elisabeth, Leah, and pizza queen Maria made our holiday even better. My partner Tracey and I had a great time, so thanks to all three of you. The rooms are basic but clean, and the pool was clean and warm, with loungers all around it. The bar area was clean and had a homely feel. If you're expecting five-star rooms for what you pay, think again. You come to Kavos to get out and enjoy yourself, not stay in your room all day. Corfu is a place to slow down, enjoy the sun, and forget about everything, so if you want a fast-paced holiday, go somewhere else.

The staff were excellent, generally spoke good English, and promptly brought me a proper saucepan, teaspoons, cereal bowls, and a kettle when I asked. Wi-Fi coverage was very good, towels were changed regularly, the safe was free, and I was given six 1.5-litre bottles of mineral water on arrival. There was shower gel in the bathroom, too. I stayed in a studio in one of the bungalows. It didn't really have a kitchenette, just a shelf over the fridge with utensils and an induction hob. The saucepan provided didn't work on it, and you have to wash dishes in the bathroom sink. The bathroom was very small, as is typical in Greece, and showering was awkward. The room was generally clean, but the taps and shower needed descaling. About the management's reply: you must have me mixed up with someone else. I booked through jet2, so I didn't know the room's price. And at 74, I definitely wasn't hiking. I don't walk that far!
