The sea is right there, and the pool area is nice, with flowers around the grounds. Staff were polite and the rooms were okay by Greek standards, so things looked fine at first. The trouble started with the all-inclusive food and drinks. The drinks tasted artificial, and the cola was worse than the cheapest discount kind. The meals were so poor that even my dog eats better. I'd enjoy the sun, pool, and view here, but skip the food packages. Half board or all-inclusive just isn't worth it.

The location is good, but the service was awful when I needed basic help. I got sick from the food, not alcohol, and asked for simple medication. The hotel had none and sent me to a pharmacy, but it was closed, with the nearest other one 20 km away. I asked to extend my stay until the evening bus, even offering to pay, and they refused. I had to wait in the lobby feeling ill. If I got worse, I thought I might have to call an ambulance. Bring your own medicine and first aid supplies.

The room was roomy enough, and the bathroom was in good shape and had what it needed. There was a TV, though not many channels, and cold water dispensers were available. The food was okay too. The air conditioning barely worked, and the key has a magnet that cuts the room's electricity when you take it with you. So every time we got back, the room was 30 degrees or hotter.

Public transport is good, and this works as a base for excursions. Still, as described, Kavros Hotel is no more than a three-star place. Meals are repetitive but not bad, and Greece really should have more fruit. There also aren't enough sunbeds for the number of guests. I'd say it's suited to travelers who don't expect too much.

The sandy beach nearby was the best part. Staff were neither particularly good nor bad, and for a three-star hotel, the rest was about what you'd expect. Breakfast was the worst meal, and the food overall means you'll probably want to eat at restaurants a couple of times. There's no activities coordinator, and they don't do anything to entertain guests. Mosquitoes were the real misery for us: my boys got bitten badly enough that we ended up seeing a doctor.
