Mythos Palace Resort & Spa - All Inclusive

The beach and seaside were excellent, and we found the rooms comfortable. The food was very good and offered plenty of variety. I still wouldn't call it a five-star experience. There also aren't activities to help teenagers get to know each other. Even so, we appreciated the stay and I'd recommend the hotel, especially to couples and families with young children, around baby club age.

A birthday surprise made our stay especially memorable: we returned to the room and found a beautifully presented cake for my husband. We hadn't told anyone at the hotel it was his birthday, so the gesture felt lovely and unexpected. We came back from this hillside hotel feeling rested. It's in a peaceful spot, with coastal paths and a few charming tavernas within walking distance. The views are wide open to the sea, and our room was clean and modern. Booking a superior sea-view room is worth considering if one is available. The hotel is built into the hillside, so there are some steep bits, but staff will shuttle guests in buggies and were polite, attentive, and ready to help. The buffet has a good selection and something for different tastes, though it's typical of a four-star resort, and a live cooking station would've been nice. The all-inclusive package covers basic drinks, while premium options and crafted cocktails cost extra. The beach bar is a pleasant place for something cold. The beach across the road is rugged rather than sandy, but usable with suitable footwear. It's generally quiet and peaceful, though not adults-only, and we enjoyed sunbathing and listening to the waves. Evenings brought live music and movies under the stars. It wasn't flashy, but it was a nice extra. We also enjoyed the character the violinist's performance added to our nights.

The beach was the highlight for us, a beautiful sandy stretch and one of the best we've seen in Crete. It was perfect for relaxing in the sun. We also had excellent food with a wide range of fresh, tasty dishes each day. The staff were extremely friendly and welcoming, and made us feel at home from the moment we arrived.

The parties are loud and go on until about 11 PM every day, so if you're bringing small kids, try to get a room away from the night scene. Beyond that, it's a great place: fab service, delicious food, pools, and direct access to the sea.
