Breakfast and dinner were a struggle. There aren't enough cafeteria tables, so we had to eat outside with wasps bothering us or sit at the reception table with food in our laps. The selection was very limited, nothing was labeled for people with allergies or dietary needs, and there was no bottled water in the rooms or cafeteria. Towels in my parents' room weren't changed for two days. In the café bathrooms, neither the men's nor women's had toilet paper or soap. My dad complained at reception, but the man there was scrolling TikTok and seemed clueless. The room was filthy. It smelled bad, had dust and black grime, and the neon purple and green tiles looked like a circus corner. I had to use the shower head to clean the toilet, shower cabin, and bathroom floor myself. I've never seen a hotel bathroom this dirty. I doubt they used any cleaning or sanitizing product before we checked in. The TV, remote, and hairdryer didn't work, the AC barely ran, and none of the lights worked when we arrived. WiFi was useless, there were no USB ports in the rooms, and the walls were paper thin, so there was no peace or privacy. Other rooms had similar issues, and some door handles didn't work. The place feels like it hasn't been modernized in decades. It barely deserves one star, let alone four. We were completely disappointed, especially since it's in such a beautiful area. Save your money and book somewhere that actually operates like a four-star hotel.

The reception team were the real bright spot. They were kind, genuinely helpful, and keen to sort out problems. They deserve a better hotel. The rooms themselves were decent enough for sleeping, if you can put up with hearing what's going on next door. The walls are so thin that we learned our neighbor's cousin has a cat named "Mitsos" and that they argue about feta cheese recipes. Privacy was pretty much a dream. We hardly saw housekeeping. During our 7 days there, we spotted the cleaning staff once, and had to make our own trip to reception to ask for towels. The building felt put together from leftover materials, maybe cardboard and good intentions. Meals were poor. Breakfast was the same bland, minimal spread every day, and dinner was repetitive and barely edible. We ended up going into town to eat properly, even though meals were included. At the pool, loud guests, kids doing cannonballs, and people playing DJ on their phones made it feel like a jungle. If you want quiet, bring noise-cancelling headphones and maybe a meditation app. We picked the place hoping for peace away from overcrowded resorts, and it was quiet apart from the noise through the walls. The conditions were disappointing, though the reception staff impressed us. With better soundproofing, food, and guest discipline, this could be a hidden gem. As things are, it's more of a hidden joke. Come prepared, mentally and culinarily. 😊

The room changes were ridiculous. We arrived late in the afternoon after a 20 hour drive, despite having booked almost 2 weeks earlier, and were told there were no rooms ready. After nearly 4 hours of waiting, we got our first room, but its air conditioner wouldn't turn on. We went back with the receptionist and waited another 30 minutes. Then the boss's wife gave us a second room. We left our bags there and had dinner, but as soon as we stood up, they asked us to move back to the first room for a third time because they'd fixed it. The AC did turn on, but after almost 2 hours at the lowest setting, the room was still hot and suffocating, and it was blowing hot air from outside. The receptionist said he couldn't give us another room then, so we had to sleep like that for a night. He promised it would be fixed by 8 a.m. the next morning. We checked again before going out, and he said it would be sorted, but when we returned at almost 6 in the evening, nothing had changed. He asked us to spend another night in that oven. We asked for a refund, which apparently wasn't possible at a four-star hotel. After a small, weird argument, we were moved to a fourth room. Its AC worked, and although the shower looked like it was from the 90s, we were too tired to care. The next morning, they asked for a fifth time that we move back to our room because its AC had been fixed. I said they weren't moving us again. Even the night before we left, the receptionist said they'd changed the AC in room 311 and we could move there the next day. We were leaving then, so there was no point. We spent 9 night in total. The only reason I'd give this place a star is the staff, especially the room cleaners. The receptionist was useless. The food was the same every day, and I ate more egg shells in 8 days from that omelette than I have in my whole life. The furniture, showers, and air conditioners were old and smelly. The hotel photos are old, and the beach isn't arranged anymore, with no sunbeds and lots of rocks. The pool smelled like a lake with frogs. The location was bad, with a narrow road that wasn't good for walking. The owner seemed greedy and uninterested in customers, with no desire to invest in the hotel despite the high prices. When we arrived, they asked for a 10€ tax for every day of our stay. I really don't know how this hotel got 4 stars.

The pool and its lush garden setting were a peaceful place to relax, and some rooms have sea views. Maranton Beach Hotel is close to a beautiful sandy beach with clear water, making it easy to swim or sunbathe. Rooms are generally clean, comfortable, and well maintained. Staff were friendly and accommodating, and service was good throughout our stay. The restaurant serves local Greek food as well as international dishes. The food is generally good, though the menu could use more variety, especially if you're staying longer. Some areas feel dated, and the furnishings and decor could do with an update. In peak season the hotel gets busy, and the beach can be crowded, so finding a quiet spot may be harder. The Wi-Fi can be unreliable at times, too. It's a solid option for a relaxing beach stay, with good amenities and a friendly atmosphere. It may not suit people looking for luxury or modern updates, particularly during the busier months.
