Mitsis Rodos Maris

The staff were lovely, and we enjoyed some of the shows, especially the magic, superheroes, and comedy. The pizza and crepes were amazing. For children, the playground could use a few more pieces of equipment, and a heated indoor pool would be welcome. We also found the restaurant food could have had more flavour. We had a great holiday at this lovely resort. It feels more like a four-star hotel and could benefit from some updating, but overall it’s a good place to stay. Thanks for a lovely break.

The bus stop right outside made getting to Lindos very easy, and there’s also a bus to Rodos, though that trip takes much longer. The bus is comfortable, and you can spend a full day in the city if you don’t mind getting up early. A speedboat to or from Rodos can be a rough ride, so take care. There isn’t much within walking distance besides souvenir shops, so you may want a car or a tour to see more. We were there in the last week of September 2025 and had a great experience. Staff were friendly and helpful, and when a question or problem came up, they dealt with it quickly and proactively. Some were such a pleasure to be around that I hoped I’d see them again. I felt we got our money’s worth and more. I’m glad we chose a sea-view room: every morning we watched the sun rise from the water, and it was nice not having people constantly pass by. Families might prefer a room on the “garden” level for the extra grass space. The beach was very close, around five minutes or less on foot, and I liked that the pools were salt water. We sometimes wanted to swim before dinner, but the pools were already closed for cleaning. Longer evening hours would have been nice. The main buffet wasn’t especially memorable, though you could find good things if you looked carefully. The wine and beer were delicious. Between the à la carte restaurants and snack bars, there was no chance of going hungry, and trying everything was the harder part. There were plenty of cocktails too. We really enjoyed staying here and would happily return, if there weren’t so many other places to see.

The people are what keep bringing us back to Mitsis Rodos Maris on Rhodes. The hotel is a little older, but it feels like coming home each time, thanks to everyone who makes it special. Despina, Ela and Babis at the Gelateria, Maria at the Kafeneo and Elizabeth at the Main Bar deserve a special thank you. We first came in July 2023, when we had to evacuate because of the fires. The staff took such good care of us and treated us like family. It meant a lot, so we returned in October and have kept coming back since. The food is always delicious, the themed restaurants are great, and brunch at the Greek Restaurant is our favourite. There are always free sunbeds by the pools and beach, though they could be more comfortable. We love this place.

The atmosphere around the hotel was pleasant, and the performances were nice, though they should start at the stated time instead of half an hour later. The kids’ club schedule showed an activity that didn’t happen, which was a shame because the children were looking forward to it. The listing said Minnie and Mickey would appear at the amphitheater, but there was no one there; we eventually found out they were by the pool. I arrived with low expectations after reading negative guest reviews, but the stay was actually good. Reception were very nice and the restaurant staff excellent. We were a very large family, though, and felt the à la carte restaurants had little patience with us. The pool water was freezing even in September, including the spa pool, and I don’t understand why it isn’t heated. The pool chairs fold when you try to sit on them. So many people complain about it, why aren’t they replaced?
