Maria, our host and the owner's daughter, was exceptional. Nothing was too much trouble, and I'd happily stay here again. The villa is set apart at the end of an unmade road, a short walk from what passes for a main road on a Greek island. Inside, it's bright, airy, and spacious, ideal for a relaxing holiday. There's plenty of room for a lively family or some music by the pool, with no immediate neighbors to worry about. All four bedrooms are generous and have lots of wardrobe space. The bathroom products provided smell lovely. The pool is a good size, with sunbeds and beach towels supplied. A bus stop at the end of the unmade road has regular service, and Lindos is about 15-20 minutes away for 3 euros. A great little supermarket, a butcher, and a fantastic gelateria are 10 minutes away. The beach and restaurants are a 10-minute walk.

The pool was spotless, with plenty of outdoor space for daytime and evenings, plus an outside cooking area and BBQ. This fabulous villa is a real gem, and the photos don't do it justice. We booked recently for four people. The hosts were welcoming and generous, always available if we needed help and never making anything a problem. The villa was spacious and very clean, with thoughtful extras already there, including beach towels, toilet rolls, shower gel, and shampoo. The beds and bedding were very comfortable. A small, well-stocked supermarket is a 10-minute walk away, with a butcher next door and a fresh gelato shop for lovely ice cream. Local transport is close by, and restaurants are within a 10-minute walk, serving good fresh fish and traditional Greek dishes. I'd definitely recommend the villa and come back.

Maria went above and beyond when our flight was delayed by six hours. She met us at 11 p.m. and had done a full grocery shop at no extra charge. We had a lovely, relaxing time in this house, enjoying the clean, beautiful pool and eating outside in the evenings. It was a birthday treat, and one of us had a birthday on our last day. Maria arrived with a bottle of Cava and a card to celebrate. The supermarket is a 15-minute walk down a track from the house, but it's worth it. I'd recommend the little local train, which you can hop on and off all day for 7 euro. Thanks, Maria, for a relaxing break in your lovely home.

The villa is cozy, lovely, and very well appointed, with a roomy kitchen, a nice pool, and air conditioning. The location is handy for several restaurants, shops, and the beach. This was our first visit to Villa Chevalier, though our parents have stayed there at least twice. The owners live nearby and were kind and helpful. We'd highly recommend it and would happily stay again.
