Dream Boathouse

Dream Boathouse sits right by the beach in Klima Village, Milos, about a one-minute walk away, with views across the Aegean Sea. The traditionally decorated house has two levels, two bedrooms, a living room that opens onto a sea-view patio, a well-equipped kitchen, and a bathroom with a built-in shower. Towels and bed linen are provided for this self-catering stay, and free WiFi is available throughout the property. Adamas Port is 4 km away and Milos Island National Airport is 7 km away.

The surroundings are lovely, though you need to be okay with being part of a tourist attraction. Internet, electricity, and hot water all worked fine. We stayed for three days at the end of the season, and the house felt worn and neglected. Everything with the host was handled anonymously through WhatsApp and a key box, with no personal contact. The furnishings didn’t match the online photos: there were no comfortable balcony chairs and no oven. Basic items were missing too, including wine glasses, a bottle opener, coffee spoons, a dish towel or paper towels, and beach towels. The downstairs toilet door was warped and wouldn’t shut. In the fridge we found butter that had expired three months earlier, and the freezer held a partly used pack of ice cream. Some dishes were dirty, which may have been because there was no sink plug or separate bowl for washing them, only running water. And the bedroom had a single bare bulb in its socket for lighting.

You feel completely at ease in these little houses. It’s a magnificent place and a genuinely unique experience.
