The rooms themselves were fine and the views were lovely, but the location felt isolated, well above the beach and far from Chora. The grounds looked neglected, and the pickup was in a battered red Nissan. I usually wouldn’t focus on that, but after what happened, it seems fair to mention. At checkout the owners shouted at us, threatened to call the police when we questioned the charges, and wouldn’t discuss anything calmly. We’d arrived at 3 pm a few days earlier and left at 8 pm to catch a boat at 3 am. Nobody had told us we were staying past checkout, and they only called about it at 8 pm, when we left straight away. They then charged €45 for an extra half day, even though that’s half the cost of a night and more than the €80 a night we’d paid online. There was also a €15 “climate tax,” charged at €5 per night and not clearly shown when booking. Somehow they included the half day we hadn’t stayed, too. After four years living and traveling in Greece, this was easily my worst hotel experience here. Apollon’s rooms already seem expensive for what they offer. The island has kinder and more affordable places, so I’d look around Anafi before booking. Greece is known for generous hospitality, but we found none of that here. The owners may reply with their side, but they came across as combative and aggressive to us. Please read the other reviews and choose somewhere else for your Anafi holiday.

We had a large, very clean room with a lovely balcony, though it really needs refurbishment. The hilltop setting gives you beautiful island views, and both Kleisidi beach and Anafi town are within walking distance. It’s a decent place to stay, but I thought it was a bit overpriced. Even the coffee is €4, which feels steep for island prices.

This review is about the rooms, not the suites or villas. The rooms looked clean, and there are some useful extras, including a port shuttle, if they actually come to collect you. Still, I found the place far too expensive for what it offers, and I’ve seen similar rooms for much less. The staff were very rude in my experience. They seemed focused on getting as much money as possible through little tricks. Even if management may be right in some individual cases, they’ve lost sight of hospitality and of what this island is like. I also wouldn’t want to feel watched where I’m staying, so I’d choose somewhere else, as other reviewers have suggested.

The staff made the week especially enjoyable. They were friendly, helpful, and professional. We were also close to Klisidi beach, with its clear water and sand, and near the charming town of Anafi. I spent time exploring the monastery, archaeological sites, and other beaches. The island felt peaceful and natural, just right for slowing down. Our room was spacious, clean, and comfortable, with a balcony for watching the sunset. From the hill there are wonderful sea and island views. The hotel also has a lovely pool and snack bar, and breakfast was continental with plenty of choice and fresh items. Apollon Village Hotel was a comfortable and convenient base, with a touch of Cycladic style. I’d happily recommend it for a memorable stay in Anafi.

The pool and breakfast were both nice. The service felt cold, though, and the place didn’t have the welcoming atmosphere I’d expect at over €300 a night.
