Charly Point Villa

I didn’t stay here, but I contacted them through Booking because I was thinking of booking after seeing the high score from 9 reviews. I had a couple of questions, and the replies were really poor. I’m not sure what they assumed about me, but they got sidetracked trying to lecture me about telling time and never answered what I’d asked. The attached picture shows the exchange. They did at least correct the listing and remove “Kitchenette” from the One-bedroom description. I’d also take “villa” out of the name for the 16m2 option, since it’s just a bedroom without a kitchen. Some of their other rooms do have one. If this is how they respond to potential customers, I wonder how their rating will hold up as more people leave reviews.

I've been back four times now, sometimes with family or friends and once on my own, and it always feels special. The place has that peaceful, Mamma Mia kind of atmosphere, with nature, light, and the Ionian Sea spread out below the pool. The panoramic pool view is pure bliss. The house is charming, thoughtfully decorated, spotless, and feels instantly comfortable. Breakfast is generous and tasty, with fresh local ingredients. We also enjoyed dinner, where Olivier made flavorful homemade food and adapted it to what we felt like eating. Janine and Olivier make you feel sincerely welcome and looked after without hovering. It's a lovely place to slow down, recharge, and make memories, and I keep wanting to return.

Methoni Castle and olive groves make the setting feel especially magical, with cicadas and a breathtaking view all around. The rooms and apartments are roomy and very clean. Janine and Olivier are warm, flexible hosts who look after their guests and greet us with a smile. They serve a generous, delicious breakfast made with excellent local products. Keeping to a schedule can be tricky sometimes, especially on holiday, but they remain welcoming. A peaceful place of rare natural beauty, and one I’d recommend to anyone planning a holiday near Methoni in Greece. Sonia and Alexandra
