The terrace sunsets were breathtaking, and we enjoyed them every day. Villa Penelope is in a quiet setting near beautiful beaches and idyllic bays, so there's plenty of opportunity to relax and explore. We spent 12 wonderful days here and felt completely at home. The villa was very well equipped, especially the kitchen, which had everything we could need. On arrival, the whole house was clean and the bed linen was fresh and high quality. Booking was easy and pleasant, and Alexandre was helpful from the start. His many island tips and information made our stay easier and more enjoyable. The house manager was also quick to respond whenever we had a question or a small problem, which for us was the coffee machine. We'd come back any time and recommend this place without reservation.

The sunsets were lovely, and the villa sits in a really peaceful spot. The staff were great too, and sorted out any issues very quickly. If you're after a quiet village stay away from it all, with supermarkets and restaurants in Plakas just a 10-minute drive away, this is a good fit. You won't be disappointed.

That view from the house is the part I still think about after leaving. The outdoor terrace is huge, with plenty of space for meals, playing around, or watching the sunset, and the surrounding gardens have herbs that make you want to cook outside on the large grill. The house itself has everything you need for a week or longer, plus thoughtful extras like food and drinks waiting when we arrived, a portable Bluetooth speaker for music indoors or outside, and attentive care from the owner. The setting is beautiful, in the greenest part of Crete, and worked well for exploring western Crete. We went kayaking, hiked gorges, climbed mountains, visited wineries, and also snorkeled in nearby coves, spent time with locals at the Taverna, and went to the beaches. Chania is nearby and charming too. As our friend said when we arrived, it felt like a place from the movies, except we were actually staying there. I'm still pinching myself.

We had a really relaxing stay at this great villa. The bay of Suda looked gorgeous from the house, and we got to watch the sunset every evening.
