Marianna Palace Hotel

For what I paid, I really can't complain. Before the holiday I read lots of bad comments, and honestly don't understand them. It's a great place for a cheap getaway, with friendly staff, food I really enjoyed, and rooms cleaned every day. The beach isn't far, and there's a small town nearby where you can rent a car or quad.

We based our opinion partly on the price, which was very reasonable. For what we paid, the hotel was excellent value and we'd recommend considering it if you find a good deal. At a price similar to higher-rated hotels nearby, it may be worth comparing other options, especially given the limited food and drink variety, no drinking water in the rooms, the walk to the beach and reports that some rooms are older. We left with great memories, though. Our room exceeded expectations, the staff were genuinely friendly and helpful, the food was tasty and the beach was beautiful. We stayed from June 1st to June 8th. Our room was modern, clean, cozy and recently renovated, and everything felt fresh. We heard some rooms might be older, but didn't see them ourselves. Ours and the neighboring rooms looked well maintained. The grounds aren't large, but are tidy and relaxing. The pool seemed renovated, with new non-slip tiles, and was always clean. There were plenty of sunbeds throughout our stay. The beach is about an 8-minute walk away. We visited a few nearby beaches and thought the closest one was the prettiest. Kolymbia town is also around 10 minutes on foot, with restaurants, bars, cafés and souvenir shops. The pool bar staff deserve a special thank you. The bartender was excellent, staying friendly, professional and attentive even when busy. We don't drink alcohol, and he was happy to make non-alcoholic versions of menu cocktails. He listened to our preferences, even how much ice we wanted. The woman working with him was kind and welcoming too. Everyone we interacted with was pleasant and helpful. The food wasn't as varied as at larger resorts, but it was all very tasty. The chef deserves credit. Lunch and dinner usually included fish, chicken, pork and beef, prepared differently each day. There were always fresh vegetables and delicious desserts. Breakfast was probably the least varied, as it was much the same daily, but we didn't mind. We always found enough to enjoy and never went hungry. There was a decent range of alcoholic drinks and cocktails. The non-alcoholic options were more limited: soft drinks, water, juices and the option to ask for some cocktails without alcohol. The menu clearly focused on alcoholic drinks. Families should know there are no milkshakes or wide choice of children's drinks. Bottled water isn't supplied in the rooms, so you need to buy it separately. There wasn't much animation. During our stay there was one Greek evening with traditional dancing, which we enjoyed. Most nights music played near the bar until midnight.

The lobby was the one small disappointment on arrival, with some outdated furniture that rather spoiled the first impression. Once we got settled in our room, though, we saw the hotel offered good value for money and was quiet, comfortable and very pleasant. Mariana Palace Hotel in Rhodes has spacious rooms that were immaculately clean, with daily housekeeping and excellent cleanliness. The food was delicious and varied. There was seafood every day, and although the selection wasn't huge, everything tasted good and felt healthy. A cozy, comfortable place. Highly recommended!

We had a really pleasant stay. The pool was clean and large enough for a swim, and our room was cleaned every day. The staff were kind, cheerful and helpful, and the food was delicious. It was a pleasure staying here.
