Koroni has a special vibe. Its narrow streets and picturesque harbour are beautifully maintained, and the castle is lovely too. There’s an old monastery there now occupied by lovely nuns who make delicious homegrown honey and marmalade. We stayed in a clean, well-kept small villa with a beautiful view, easy parking, and a decent-sized pool right outside the front door. In Koroni’s heatwave, the pool was a lifesaver for keeping both kids and parents cool, and it’s rare to find one there. It was also two minutes by car to the best beaches. We used the villa as a base for long day trips to ancient ruins, and coming back to the pool was a godsend. Staying in town is possible, but navigating the narrow streets and finding a parking space can be a challenge. The owner was easy to reach, helpful, and flexible.

We spent 9 days at Driopes. The owners were attentive and very helpful, and the location was good, with the option to walk into Koroni. The houses are lovely, comfortable, and well equipped. We enjoyed the pool and were lucky to have it to ourselves for five days. My only reservation is that if all four villas were full, there might not be enough space for everyone to sit by the pool.
